Padelon FAQs

Warranties speak the underlying quality of the padel court and its construction process. Before you consider any other element of your padel court you should make sure the warranties can be measured against the length of time you wish to operate without potential significant costs.

&#;

We offer 10 year warranties on court and canopy structures for all components including corrosion. These are the best available in Ireland and should be front of your decision making process. Further these are in line with UK regulations, please see regulations sections below for further detail.

Padel courts are primarily steel, glass and synthetic grass. Most manufacturer will build to code steel EN , glass EN and grass UNE .  These are a minimum requirement but not all you should consider. The galvanisation process, strength of the steel profiles and of the glass are verifying while still complying with the above codes.

&#;

As well as meeting the above standards our steel is hot dip galvanised to standards BS . These are british standards and are most appropriate to our similar climate. Our steel profile thickness is 3mm - 6mm for our court, lots of manufacturers will use 2mm - 3mm profiles as it&#;s cheaper. Thicker profiles lead to a stronger, more durable court, with less chance of glass breakage. Our courts come with 12mm tempered glass as standard, this is strongest and most durable option on the market. Other manufacturer will use 10mm glass and non tempered glass products.

The design and aesthetics of your padel court are important. While secondary to the quality considerations the look and feel of your padel court must be right for you.

&#;

Padel court construction in Ireland is currently unregulated. The Sports And Play Construction Association (SAPCA) is a UK guide on building padel courts. We believe meeting this guidance is essential due to our similar climate and the fact is has been created by the appropriate people, engineers.  This document is open source information you can find online. We note the most important element is the requirement for a 10 year warranty on all court structural components (including corrosion).

&#;

We have been through a thorough manufacturer selection process and turned down agreements from some of the largest padel manufacturers in the world, simply because our engineers have deemed them inappropriate for our climate and they do not meet SAPCA guidance. Our goal is to be a long term success and having courts that meet the regulations that could and should be in place in the future is paramount.

The certification you receive are key to both understand the product you are buying and ensuring your engineer has all the correct information they need to ensure your padel courts and canopy meet all building requirements and ensure the structural, wind, rain, light spillage and other factors are all considered for your location.  Uneven surface, blinding lights and glass breaking has been demonstrated in Ireland as people underappreciated the importance of the below.

As standard we provide the following and consider a minimum requirement an Engineer technical report including all wind, snow load, weight and pressure points, Lighting design, Certificate of materials manufactured, Electrical certification, Installation quality certification, Fire material certificates for canopy solution.

The design of your padel court is key, understanding the game and the health and safety of players. One example of what not to do can currently be seen in a Dublin hotel. The courts are in a busy car park with no safety barriers, the courts have large steps presenting risk of player injury and match balls regularly are lost in an adjacent wooded area or are hit onto a busy public road.

Panoramic court for Padel

This padel court measuring 20×10 meters is built with a robust galvanized steel structure. It is available either painted or covered with an oven-baked epoxy-polyester resin, meeting precise technical specifications. The grille, made of 50x50x4mm electro-welded mesh, is designed to avoid any protrusion inside, thus ensuring a smooth finish.

Chassis assemblies use stainless steel threaded rods, washers and rounded acorn nuts for added strength and durability. The double access door measures 1.10 cm, completing a structure fully compliant with the standards of the International Padel Federation . Finishing options include galvanized structural tube beams measuring 140x60x2 for the corners, and intermediate pillars of 80.60.2 mm measuring 3 meters high. The fixing is reinforced by anchor plates measuring 300x180x10 mm and 200x190x10 mm, using 10 mm sheet metal gussets, M14 or stronger screws, and metal dowels with a minimum length of 140 mm.

The base of the field is firmly fixed to the ground with &#;Hilti&#; type dowels or equivalent, and reinforced by metal reinforcement brackets up to 0.5 meters at the base of the pillars supporting the glass. Horizontal crosspieces of 30x30x2 mm are placed at 1 meter and 2 meters for additional stability, while the upper part of the pillars is protected with PVC caps to guarantee watertightness.

The metal components are treated with a thermosetting polyester powder paint, enriched with polyester resins, to provide a customizable finish according to the customer's color preferences. This method significantly improves resistance to corrosion, UV, and physical impacts.

The application of this paint is done by electrostatic process, after which the parts are baked at a temperature of 180°C to 200°C to allow polymerization, thus ensuring the durability of the protective layer.

For installations near maritime areas, where the risk of corrosion is increased by salt fog, additional protective measures are taken to safeguard the metal structure. Customers can also opt for a two-tone finish , for example, with different colors for certain elements like the spotlight stems.
