In the early 1900s, its prominence extended to grave memorials when it was discovered that few materials can rival the elegance, durability, and historical depth of bronze.

Since then, bronze memorials have served as silent testimonials, sharing brief yet poignant narratives of those who have passed.

In this blog, we’ll explore the unparalleled benefits of bronze grave markers.

1. Longevity

Bronze is a unique alloy formed by combining copper and tin through a refined and perfected process.

Unlike natural substances like granite or marble, which are prone to chipping and gradual erosion, bronze is remarkably resistant to corrosion and will maintain its structural integrity, lasting for hundreds of years or even longer.

These inherent properties make bronze an ideal choice for creating grave markers intended to transcend generations, serving as testaments to the legacies of those they commemorate.

2. Timeless Beauty

There’s an undeniable allure to bronze, characterized by its warm, golden hue that matures gracefully.

To preserve this natural elegance, manufacturers like Trigard Memorials apply a powder clear coat to the surface of every marker. This helps shield the raw material from the effects of environmental exposure.

Over time, bronze undergoes a transformative process known as oxidation. During this progression, the metal develops a protective layer, taking on a greenish tint known as patina.

While some families view patina as an enhancement to a marker’s beauty, others opt to have a patina-adorned marker restored to its original appearance.

3. Personalization

Bronze stands out as a superior medium for capturing intricate details and unique design elements. Whether it’s lifelike portraits, serene backdrops or profound inscriptions, bronze offers a level of customization that is difficult to achieve with other materials.

At Trigard Memorials, our dedication to excellence is evident in our diverse range of personalization options, including:

Families who invest in our premium bronze grave markers can rest assured that their loved one’s memory will be honored with unmatched craftsmanship and precision.

4. Versatility

The versatility of bronze goes well beyond its sophisticated detailing to encompass many different styles. Available in both single and companion sizes, bronze memorials can range from grandiose to understated, from ornate to minimalist.

They can be mounted to a concrete base or a sleek granite slab for a refined appearance. Alternatively, they can be seamlessly affixed to the backside of an upright gravestone as a complementary addition.

The extensive selection of options afforded by bronze ensures that families can choose a marker that truly reflects their tastes and preferences.

5. Historical Significance

For over four centuries, bronze has been a preferred material for statues and monuments. Its rich history traces back to around 2000 B.C. with the creation of the ‘Dancing Girl’ from the Indus Valley Civilization.

Today, bronze grave memorials serve as an important link, connecting one’s final resting place to a rich history of monumental artistry. They bridge the ancient and the modern, providing a tangible bond between past and present.

Similar to the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York, the solemn Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., or the famous Equestrian Statue of the Gattamelata, bronze memorials will endure as legacies that transcend generations.

6. Easy Maintenance

While all markers require a certain level of care and upkeep, bronze memorials are known to have fewer maintenance requirements compared to other types of headstones.

Simply cleaning a bronze memorial with mild soap and water, then wiping away dirt and debris with a lint-free cloth often suffices.

Trigard Memorials now offers a spray-on cleaner specifically designed to gently cleanse bronze grave memorials, revitalizing their original shine and brilliance.

Tell It In Bronze

When considering a lasting tribute, the benefits of bronze grave markers shine brightly. They represent a caring and compassionate choice, symbolizing the timeless nature of remembrance and the lasting impact of those we hold dear.

Cemetery Statues

Bonded Marble Statues From Resin Materials

Our line of Bonded Marble Statues are made from the finest manufacturers in Italy. A rendering of each marble statue pattern derives from a handcrafted replica and offers the fine features and details you would expect from classic Italian statuary.

How Bonded Marble Statues Are Made

Bonded Marble Statues are made from a composite material in which natural Carrara marble powder is mixed with a resin. The mixture is then poured into a mold of the statue design. The resin gives the marble powder an added strength superior to the natural stone. The finished product bears a near identical resemblance to the original hand carved statue. The texture and features are duplicated and the color is a consistent ivory white. Because of the characteristics of the resin material, these bonded marble statues are water proof.

Uses for Marble Statues

There are many uses for bonded marble statues. Many of our customers place them next to or on the base of an existing monument in the *cemetery. Others use them as a feature for their garden or a fountain. If needed, we can have the statue drilled on the bottom for a more secure installation. Some people simply use bonded marble statues as a memorial or tribute to their loved one. Still others use them as an art piece to compliment the interior of their home. Whatever the application these bonded marble statues are beautiful and durable which is why they come standard with a five-year guarantee against deterioration or discoloration.

Installation of Statues

Bonded marble statues do not require special tools or skills for installation. If using the statue as an art piece or in the home there is no need to permanently affix it to a base or foundation. When using it as an add on item to an existing cemetery memorial or garden feature it is important to first make certain there is a flat surface large enough to accommodate the base of the statue. Most of our bonded marble statues have the base dimensions below the thumbnail image in our catalog. It is recommended to use an adhesive that will bond natural stone and the bonded marble statue. Also it is preferable the epoxy has a consistency of peanut butter and a workable time of at least 30 minutes. You can find the appropriate adhesive at most hardware stores. Try to stay away from liquid adhesives since they are difficult to control in this situation. Make sure both surfaces are slightly roughened and cleaned so the adhesive will adhere properly.

If wanting a more secure installation, you can utilize a dowel pin that will recess into the surface of the base and rise above the surface a few inches (depending on the size of the marble statue). In this event it is recommended to have a professional monument installer handle the installation. Each of our bonded marble statues comes with the option of having the base drilled for a dowel hole. This option can be selected from our statue catalog.

Care For Bonded Marble Statues

To clean the bonded marble statues you can use a solution of soap and water and scrub with a soft bristle brush. Bleach or industrial grade cleaners are not recommend as they might remove the coating that protects them from UV sunlight rays.
